Day #63 – Actually amazing upper body workout

Hello and happy Tuesday! I hope you’ve all had a great day, especially if you went back to the grind today like I did.

Today was actually very pleasant. I had a very fun day getting to see my friends again, and I didn’t have a humongous workload as I thought I would. I also got some very encouraging and positive feedback from others today, and that made me feel so confident. I love it when you can tell you’ve made other people happy; that’s one of the things that just makes my day.

The weather today has been cloudy, humid, and muggy, but that definitely didn’t describe my mood today! I haven’t had such a fun weekday in a long time.

I came home today and worked out for about an hour and a half. I had my best arm and back workout I’ve ever done; I did all my regular arm workouts with heavier weights than I’ve ever been able to, along with using my new gym machine and the rowing machine. I also did 50 inclined pushups, as I have been the last three days (I’m trying to learn to do a normal push-up, day by day. I have a buddy doing this with me also). Overall I felt amazing after today’s workout, and very encouraged that I was able to complete all that at a higher intensity than I’ve ever done before. That’s going to be my new standard; either what I did today or a higher intensity. I’m proud of myself for accomplishing this.

Day #62 – Muscle growth

Hello and happy Monday! For those of you at work today, I hope everything went well; for those of you who were off, I hope you had a great end to your weekend. Either way, happy MLK day!

Today’s been a very fun day. I started out playing some games and talking with my cousins for a while this morning, then me and my family went out to eat lunch and run a few errands. After that, we watched a really good movie I hadn’t seen in forever. We had a very fun evening talking and spending time together. I enjoyed this last day of relaxation before going back to the normal schedule.

I also got in an amazing workout this evening… I spent slightly over an hour working on my legs and glutes. I figured out an amazing exercise plan that I’d love to repeat on leg days (if not add more to it, as I had originally planned on doing a longer workout today; I didn’t end up having enough time to do so). I feel like I’m definitely going to be sore tomorrow!

I feel like I’m definitely starting to see a change in my physical appearance. I’ve noticed over the past few days that my leg muscles have become more defined, along with the loss of fat on my thighs, which I’m thrilled about; don’t get me wrong, I’m not trying to lose weight (that is not my goal at all), I just want to overall have more muscle than fat. It’s exciting to see that my hard work is paying off! If only my arms would do the same thing now too 😉

I’m sad that the weekend is over. I’ve taken the time to completely de stress over the past three days, as last week was very difficult mentally. I’m preparing myself for the same intensity, which I’m dreading. I suppose that’s part of life though…

Overall I had an absolutely wonderful time with my family and friends the past three days. I’m sad it’s iver, but it’s comforting to know I’ll only have to endure four days of working before the weekend will roll around again.

Day #61 – Row, row, row in place

Hi! I hope you’ve all had a fun-filled day.

Today was a great day for me. I spent a lot of time with my family and was also able to workout for a good while. I did half an hour on our rowing machine (650 was my total count) and about 40 minutes of abs. It felt fantastic to get a good sweat going again!

Tomorrow is my last day off before having to go back to my regular schedule. I’m so sad to have to go back… lately I’ve been so stressed out about my workload, and I’m dreading going back to that. Oh well… at least it’ll only be a four-day workweek.

Tomorrow I’m hoping to do leg day in preparation for not having much time on Tuesday. I’m excited to see what exercises I choose tomorrow! Hopefully I’ll have a fantastic day, as will you.

Day #60 – Lovely day

Hello friends! Welcome to or back to my blog. Hopefully today has been fabulous for you!

Today was such a good start to my weekend. I was able to sleep in this morning, have a home-cooked brunch, and spend the day with one of my close friends. I had so much fun just hanging out and making memories with my friend… today turned out wonderful.

I was out and busy until late this night, so I didn’t have time to workout. Tomorrow I should be able to (it’ll be ab day), so I’ll want to do a good workout to make up for today.

Day #59 – Outstanding news

Aloha! It’s officially the weekend… and somehow, I survived the nightmare of last week 😉 I’m thrilled that I have a three day weekend; it’s about time. I need it after the last week.

Today I received some absolutely spectacular news about my progress in my hard work. I’m proud of myself and so happy that I’ve earned this new placement. I’ve worked hard for this, and I’m so, so happy. I found out this news today around 6:00 pm, and I literally screamed when I read it. I haven’t been that joyful in a long time!

I got in a short ab workout this morning, along with some walking (long story). I didn’t do much, but I also felt like today wasn’t the day to push myself. I don’t know… I’ve just been so stressed out lately, so today I just decided to relax and let whatever was meant to happen, happen. And that approach obviously worked out fantastically for me!

I’m so excited about what I found out today. I want to improve this even more, but I’m so proud of myself for getting to where I am today. Many people have doubted me in the past, specifically about this area of my life, but today I proved every doubt wrong. I’m so proud of myself for reaching this goal.

Day #58 – A series of unfortunate happenings

Hello my friends, and welcome to my blog.

I’m going to be 100% honest with you all: today’s been pretty rough. And when I say rough, I mean really bad. It doesn’t sound that awful, but the whole of today just didn’t go my way at all.

I really need to vent and get this off my chest, so please excuse the following tangent…

This morning started out by my iPad breaking completely. It’s a long story but basically I either have to pay to replace the iPad or replace the whole screen of the iPad for half the cost of a new one. Following that, I was literally running out the door and nearly missed my ride. Next in line was a ton of work to finish extremely fast (along with so much to have to bring home). And don’t forget at this point my stomach sounding like a dying beluga whale, as my oatmeal exploded in the microwave this morning and I didn’t make more. After that, I almost lost my mind because my partners in a project either all left or wouldn’t do anything. And then I absolutely freaked out because I thought I had to present something today that I didn’t have done (it turned out that I didn’t have to, but I spent several minutes panicking and resorting to choking back tears in public). Next we have trying to exercise tonight, which felt like a total flop. I believe I’m using our new gym set wrong, as it will not work right for me at all. And guess what? Right as I’m finishing up some tasks on my computer, it dies. Amazing.

Oh yes, we can’t forget the last event: I stepped on a staple that is currently still halfway in my foot.

So… yeh. Today’s been interesting to say the least.

I hope all of you have had a better day than me! I do feel tired after my wacky workout, though, so maybe I did do something.

I’m wishing that tomorrow is waaaaay easier, happier, and more fun than today was for all of us. Even on the hardest days, y’all keep me reminded that today’s a magnificent day to be happy!

Day #57 – Too little time

Hello! Welcome to or back to my blog. We’re halfway to the weekend!!

I’ve had so much to do today. This has by far been the most busy week I’ve had since the early autumn. And, with my regular Wednesday evening plans combined with all the work I brought home, I wasn’t able to workout. I’m getting a bit frustrated with how little time I’m having to do things I want to do, such as exercise; I know that’s part of life, but it’s still a difficult fact to accept. I’m really hoping that tomorrow I’ll be able to use my new gym set for arms… I suppose I’ll let you know then!

Day #56 – Actual gym equipment

Hello and happy Tuesday! Today’s been a beautiful day for me, as I hope it’s been for you!

Today has felt like one of the longest days ever. I’m not sure why… maybe it’s becayse I’ve been super busy all day, but everything that I’ve been doing has been horribly boring. I nearly fell asleep before lunch time. I had absolutely no energy whatsoever, which is very odd for me; I’m typically a very peppy person, so if I’m drowsy… it’s quite a rare occurrence.

This afternoon I had to work on my tasks for several hours after I got home, so I sadly didn’t have much time to exercise. But I was able to workout for a few minutes on our new home gym set! I absolutely loved all that I did on it… although the ankle strap broke (??) immediately after I began to use it, so I’ll have to order another one or try to fix it somehow. Other than that, I had a lot of fun experimenting on the machine. I was able to do quad raises (I don’t know what it’s really called) with about 50 lbs, which I was so proud of. I didn’t think I’d be able to do that heavy of a weight, especially 7 sets of 10 reps!! I was so excited, and it was a great first experience with the home gym. I’m thrilled to do my arms on it tomorrow and see what new movements I can learn.

Day #55 – Headaches are delightful

Hello and happy new week!

If I’m going to be real and honest with you, today’s been a typical Monday; long, boring, and not the most fun. But it’s also been great to hang out with my friends and family today, so that’s a wonderful aspect of today.

I have had a headache from the time I got home this afternoon to basically now. It went away for a bit around 8 o’clock, but came back about an hour ago. It’s been quite a painful headache, and I definitely wasn’t feeling up to working out this evening. This is one of those times where even though I want to workout so badly, I stop myself because I know I’ll benefit more from the rest than the exercise. I hate getting headaches and not working out because of it, as I feel like I’m being lazy (though I internally know I’m not). Besides, it’s just obnoxious to have the feeling of a constantly banging frying pan in your temples.

Today my family set up a new home gym we bought. I’m ecstatic to begin using it, and hopefully I’ll be able to tomorrow. There are some amazingly intense leg exercises you can use it for, so I’m really excited to try it out.

Day #54 – I need a new ab routine

Aloha my lovelies! I hope you’ve had a fantastic weekend. Tomorrow is Monday, the start of a new week… Though it may be stressful, by being mindful and living confidently I’m going to make the most of it.

I completed a pretty long time of an exercises, but I honestly don’t feel like I got a good workout. I’m having trouble finding an ab routine I like and can feel, but also isn’t so intense that I can’t complete it. I spent some time searching online for a workout that I liked; I tried several but wasn’t a big fan. Personally, I feel many ab workouts more in my arms or quads than my abdomen. It’s so annoying, and I’m not sure whether the workouts are too easy or if I’m doing them wrong… I don’t know. So basically I’m trying to find something that works for me, however I may be doing things now.

Tomorrow I’ll try to complete leg day… I’m hoping I won’t be super busy in the afternoon so that I’ll be able to do a hard, intense workout. I’m not the most excited about going back to the hard work of Mondays, but I’m going to try my best to make tomorrow as positive as possible.
