Day #26 – Cardio blast

Hello there and I hope you’ve had a terrific weekend! Tomorrow is the start of the last full week before Christmas. Where has time gone this year??

This afternoon I got a sudden burst of energy and really, really wanted to go for a run. Earlier this year I ran regularly, but I sadly faded out of that a couple months ago. But today I began a new workout series that I am going to try to complete…

I found a podcast series that will supposedly train you for a 5k in 8 weeks. I’m not specifically training for a race, but I do want to get back into running and increase my endurance over longer distances. I followed the workout today and ran/walked about 2.6 miles. It felt nothing short of invigorating… not only did I feel very accomplished afterwards, but I also realized how much I’d missed running. 

Later on this evening, I was planning on doing a couple ab workouts. I made it through only about 10 minutes though; the lack of energy from my run really hit me in the middle of my favorite ab workout. I couldn’t finish it, which I was slightly disappointed about… but I’m still very proud of myself today, since I’m restarting something I’d once loved doing. 

This weekend was very fun overall. I got a lot done that I’d been needing and wanting to do, so that was great. I know this week is going to be especially special, as I have a lot of very intense days coming up. Tomorrow will be fine, Tuesday a bit worse, and Wednesday and Thursday will be extremely nerve wracking. Friday will be awesome though, as I won’t have any work that day. 

I hope this weekend has served all of you well and I’ll be hoping that y’all’s Monday is as amazing as you are. Keep in mind this entry when you think about something you used to love… maybe give it another shot! You never know what good things could come from it.
